Binic a hidden gem of northern Brittany

Binic, seaside town for holidays in northern Brittany

A lively seaside town, just 15 minutes from your cottage

Only a 15-minute drive from Into the Prairie, Binic is one of the most pleasant seaside towns on the Goëlo Coast. Known for its marina, beaches and relaxed atmosphere, it’s an easy and enjoyable outing during your stay, whether you’re travelling as a couple or with children.
Binic combines the charm of a traditional Breton port with the comforts of a welcoming seaside town, all on a human scale.

Beautiful beaches for swimming, walking and relaxing

Binic offers two lovely beaches within easy walking distance of the port: La Banche and L'Avant Port.

La Banche beach A classic seaside atmosphere

In summer, the soft, fine sand of La Banche Beach invites you to lay down your towel and enjoy the seaside.

At low tide, the sea retreats far into the bay, opening wide stretches of sand, ideal for long walks, a jog along the water’s edge, or simply leaving footprints in the wet sand. The seawater pool and paddling pool nearby make swimming possible throughout the day.

Set right in the heart of Binic, the 'Grain de Beauté promenade' along the beach has a lively yet gentle atmosphere: the scent of waffles and crêpes drifts through the air, children laugh as the carousel turns, and the Morice or Moustache ice cream stands are just a few steps away... a true seaside scene.

On windy days, kitesurfers raise their colourful sails, adding movement and energy to the view. Wrapped up warmly, children continue to enjoy the sand, building castles and inventing games.

After your walk, simply cross the footbridge to warm up with a coffee or hot chocolate at one of the nearby cafés like Opaline and La Maison de Léa.

L’Avant Port beach A secret gem at the end of the quays

Tucked away at the far end of the quays in Binic, towards the lighthouse, l'Avant Port beach is accessible through a tunnel carved into the cliffside during wartime. After walking through this historic passage, you’ll be rewarded with a charming view of the beach, famous for its colourful beach huts that line the sand.

This beach is framed by impressive cliffs, dotted with elegant villas, offering a peaceful, scenic atmosphere. The fine sand stretches out below, inviting you to relax, enjoy the sea breeze, and take in the quiet beauty of the surroundings.

L'Avant Port beach is a perfect spot for those seeking a quiet, unhurried day at the seaside, combining history, beauty, and tranquility all in one. Very good for an early morning swim too.

Coastal paths link the beaches to small headlands and viewpoints, making Binic just as enjoyable for a gentle walk as for a full beach day.

Thursday market a highlight for your holiday week

The Thursday morning market is one of Binic’s highlights and well worth planning into your holiday week.

Stalls fill the town with local produce, seafood, fruit and vegetables, cheeses, bread and regional specialities. It’s a lively yet friendly moment, perfect for gathering picnic supplies, discovering local flavours, or simply enjoying the rhythm of a Breton market by the sea.

During the summer season, the market stretches along the quays, offering a colourful stroll where craft stalls and souvenir stands sit side by side with boats, stretching all the way to the pier where the lighthouse stands.
